Pre-Project Analysis

Business Analysis

I bridge the gap between business needs and technical solutions, ensuring your project stays on track and delivers tangible results. My work starts at the project’s inception and continues throughout its lifecycle.

  • Requirements Gathering & Documentation: Using various techniques, I capture and document all functional and non-functional requirements to create a single source of truth for the project.

  • Gap Analysis: I identify the discrepancy between your current state and desired future state, providing a clear action plan for closing the gaps and highlighting potential time and cost savings.

  • Business Communications: I work with business users to strategically identify all customer and operational communications. I then lead the design process to ensure these letters, emails, and notifications are clear, compliant, and meet the specific business goals.
  • Finance Liaison: I facilitate this critical collaboration, ensuring all financial requirements are accurately captured and documented for seamless implementation.
  • Regulatory Compliance: I actively engage with the Compliance team to identify and assess risks associated with project changes. My role is to ensure all necessary regulatory requirements and internal controls are accurately defined, documented, and fully integrated into the project solution, thereby safeguarding the business.

Solution Design

I work closely with the technical teams to design the right solution, ensuring it is both strategically sound and technically feasible.

By translating precise business requirements into a clear design, I ensure the final product is perfectly aligned with your strategic objectives and ready for development.

  • System & Data Design : I produce system process diagrams including sequence diagrams to ensure a shared understanding between technical and business teams. I am responsible for designing the data model, including entities and attributes, that underpins the solution.
  • Letters and Outputs: I determine and document the precise data requirements and map out the system logic needed to produce all automated letters, emails, and notifications correctly.
  • System Interfaces and Integrations: When integration is required I liaise with internal and external teams, and use technical documentation, to specify the exact data definitions and transfer protocols for all system-to-system interfaces.
  • Scenario and Test Case Support: I develop detailed scenarios and work with the test teams to produce test cases to validate that the delivered solution meets all specified requirements.

  • Defect & Exception Management: I work with the IT team to fix system issues and liaise with testers to guide their retesting.  I liaise with the business users to identify and validate potential workarounds when issues cannot be fixed.  I also refer to the original specifications to identify when a defect is actually a change request, and raise the appropriate documentation to capture this.

Stakeholder Engagement & Change Management

Successful projects are built on strong communication and collaboration. I manage stakeholder expectations and support the transition to new processes, ensuring smooth adoption and lasting success.

  • Stakeholder Management: I proactively engage with stakeholders at all levels to build consensus, manage expectations, and ensure their needs are met throughout the project.

  • Change Management Support: I assist in planning and executing the transition to new systems and processes, minimising disruption and maximising user adoption.

  • Skills Matrix Development: I help identify the skills and training required for your team to successfully operate within the new environment.

  • Business Readiness: I lead the effort to ensure the organisation is prepared for change by verifying that procedure guides and process diagrams are fully updated. This includes confirming that all end-users have received the required training and necessary resources to operate the new system effectively and manage the business process.
  • Benefits Realisation: My involvement extends to verifying the project’s true value. Through a post-implementation review, I capture lessons learned and critically assess the solution to confirm it met the original business needs and delivered the quantifiable savings and benefits that were projected in the business case.
